Demo Video

Say hello to Oxley, a friendly companion for anyone who struggles with visual impairments. Oxley helps users navigate obstacles, detect objects, and read specific text fields.

Goal: Oxley is a companion for everyday life. It takes the form of a 2.5-inch friendly companion and will help a user, who may struggle completing daily tasks, live a more independent life. Users would be able to navigate obstacles and streets (GPS), find objects and read specific text fields when needed.

Features: Oxley Go uses a camera and earpiece. The two cameras identify proximity and the speaker would alert the user of obstacles such as upcoming traffic or torso-level obstructions. The cameras are able to translate writings and signs to the user’s ears by voice. Oxley Home serves as a home base for ergonomic wireless charging for Oxley Go and as a virtual assistant that can help the user stay organized.
